HFC-227ea (also known as FM200) is a colorless, odorless, clean fire suppression agent used widely around the world. Compared with other agents such as CO2 and halon, HFC-227ea is more environmentally friendly: it does not harm the ozone layer, and its ozone depletion potential is zero.

HFC-227ea combines the advantages of other fire agents — it is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and electrically insulating — making it the optimum substitute for halon series agents.

HFC-227ea extinguishes fire efficiently within 10 seconds without leaving any residue, so users do not need to spend extra money or time cleaning up the protected area after the system is activated.

The pipe network model of the FM200 fire suppression system consists of three parts: the pipe network part, the fire fighting equipment part, and the electrical elements part. The latter two parts are described below.

The electrical elements form a set of detecting devices and always play a subsidiary role in each system. They include several control panels, manual buttons, discharge indicator lights, alarm bells, sounder-with-light units, smoke detectors, and heat detectors.

The main part of the system is the fire fighting equipment, formed by the following components: FM200 cylinders, a cylinder frame, nitrogen-pressure driving devices, a driving device frame, container valves, flexible hoses, liquid flow check valves, gas control pipes, gas flow check valves, manifolds, safety valves, selective valves, flanges, elbows, and nozzles.
