FM200 (HFC-227ea) is a colorless, tasteless, non-corrosive, and electrically insulating gas that leaves no residue or pollution after extinguishing. Its Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) is zero, making it an environmentally friendly extinguishing agent. Because of these properties, it is particularly suitable for locations where electrical fires are likely to occur.

Combined with the extinguishing device and electronic accessories, the entire system can be actuated automatically. It monitors the protective region through detectors and can start the extinguishing device via a solenoid actuator automatically, achieving full automation. This eliminates the risk of an unnoticed fire and reduces the cost of employing personnel to supervise the protected area.

Management of multiple zones is also safely handled by the system. A single system can protect multiple zones through selective valves, allowing the system to target different protective zones alternately. The agent is discharged directly into the zone where the fire occurs, ensuring efficient fire suppression in a short time. Note that a small room should be reserved as storage space for the entire system.

The 4.2 MPa FM200 suppression system with 120 L storage cylinders is mainly composed of three parts: extinguishing devices, pipe fittings, and electrical accessories.

• Extinguishing devices — include the cylinder for filling and storing FM200, the frame, and the driving device (nitrogen cylinder) that triggers the storage cylinder to discharge the agent.
• Pipe fittings — the conduits that connect the extinguishing device and guide the agent into the protective zone, such as high-pressure galvanized steel pipes, flanges, and elbows.
• Electrical accessories — used to detect and monitor the entire protective area, control the whole system, warn people to evacuate, and prevent fire expansion.
